Flinsch Peak, Glacier National Park

$1,750.00

32" x 24" acrylic on handmade paper 2020

The culmination of the 3,000 mile Continental Divide trail: Glacier National Park. I had consumed all the available time to hike the many miles so the days were short and temperatures were falling. A sense of foreboding quickened my pace. I was far north, the tourists were gone and a snow storm was just days away. This view is from Pitamakan Pass looking towards Flinsch Peak in the Two Medicine area of the park. I crossed a number of these stunning high passes where strong winds would push me around and clouds tumbled by. The colossal grandeur was overwhelming. I soaked it in then continued down into the valley to seek shelter amongst the trees.
